Jay & Jay Industries was contracted by Westfield Design and Construction Group to design and install a sediment management plan for the redevelopment of Gold Coast’s iconic Pacific Fair shopping precinct. Large-scale demolition works had raised issues of site water running off into surrounding stormwater drains and subsequent outflow into the Nerang River canal system. Jay & Jay Industries undertook installation of two sections of Silt and Sediment booms for the Nerang river waterways and Sediment control devices in stormwater drain throughout the site.
Work was carried out in compliance with Site safety management plans, as a subcontractor to the head contract. Jay & Jay Industries were required to undertake this sensitive project in full view of the public. Design and Installation were made more complex with the remote location away from land access to the job site. Further complications arose with the onset of Storms predicted.
